As many of you may know, today is my last day at First Five Nebraska. I've accepted a position in Maine, where I will continue to work on child care matters, as well as health care facility licensing and regulation issues.
Needless to say, I'm feeling many mixed emotions about the change. While I'm excited about the new opportunities and challenges that lie ahead, I also have a heavy heart and feel a profound sadness. I've never worked with a finer group of people, who care so deeply about their work and the impact it has on young children. I will truly miss all of you.
I'd like to thank the many legislators, state board of education members, business leaders, school administrators and other friends in Nebraska I've made along the way. Your commitment to the State of Nebraska and its future has not gone unnoticed by me. I'll always be proud to call Nebraska home because of the great leaders like you who work tirelessly to improve the lives of others. Thank you for all that you do.
