It’s the Week of the Young Child, the annual event spearheaded by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) to focus on the needs of young children and their families and to recognize the early childhood programs and services that meet those needs.
The early childhood years (birth through age 8) lay the foundation for children's success in school and later life. Through music, art, food, family and teamwork, the week is a time to consider how parents, caregivers, teachers and communities can create environments that meet the needs of young children, especially those at risk, to promote their early learning.
