Mitch joined the First Five Nebraska policy team in November 2022. Prior to joining First Five Nebraska, Mitch worked for eight years at the Nebraska Legislature as a legislative staffer. During his time at the Legislature, he worked on public policy relating to state and federal funding, economic and workforce development, mental and behavioral health and early childhood education. Prior to his time at the Legislature, he volunteered for various political campaigns at the state and local level and worked in business.

A 2017 graduate of the University of Scranton, Mitch received his M.S. in Human Resources. He received his B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln in 2012, with a focus in marketing and English.

Mitch is active in his church and volunteers for various ministries to serve his church community and the elderly. He also enjoys serving through FoodNet of Lincoln and Habitat for Humanity. Mitch and his wife, Krista, live in Lincoln with their daughter Cecilia and dog, Cooper. They enjoy traveling and hosting loved ones in their home. Mitch likes to spend his free time in the great outdoors hiking and hunting, studying history and philosophy and spending time with his family and loved ones.
