We welcome Mike Feeken as he joins the First Five Nebraska team to lead our work to involve the public and private sectors in early childhood efforts as a key strategy for local economic development.

Feeken comes to FFN after 14 years of economic and community development work in St. Paul, Neb. There he focused on administration of the Local Option Municipal Economic Development Act (LB840) plan to create programs that helped attract, retain and expand businesses, encourage investment into sustainable housing and promote quality of life initiatives.

“I’m very excited to join the First Five Nebraska team and utilize my past experiences and professional network to move the conversation forward that quality early childhood education is an economic development and workforce issue,” he said. “It's a determining factor when potential residents are deciding where their family should live and work.”

Mike has served in numerous local, regional and statewide organizations including Nebraska Economic Development Association (NEDA), South Central Economic Development District (SCEDD), Rotary and Central Nebraska Community Action Partnership (CNCAP).

He and his wife Lynn have two boys, Ben, age 15, and Drew, age 12. And three pets: a dog Violet, Buddy the (nice) cat and Pepper the (angry) cat.
