What can send us off course? This short new video by the Harvard Center on the Developing Child explores the development and use of core capabilities—known as executive function and self-regulation skills—from early childhood into adolescence and adulthood.

Setting the foundation for achieving these skills begins with supportive and encouraging interactions with parents, caregivers and other important adults in their lives.
