Becky Veak

Early Childhood Policy Leadership Academy Manager

Becky served as the founding Director of First Five Nebraska for 12 years prior to stepping away to lead FFN’s Early Childhood Policy Leadership Academy in 2019. The Academy is a non-partisan initiative that builds civic engagement skills in citizen leaders across the state to affect early childhood policy. Becky brings 35+ years of experience working as an aide in the Nebraska Legislature and U.S. Senate, advocating for the long-term health care industry and developing and administering a statewide program for the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services. Becky also serves as Project Lead on a grant to explore early childhood governance and financing strategy revisions. She received a B.S. in family and consumer sciences from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.
