U.S. Census 2014 American Community Survey Completed

by | Dec 17, 2015

The U.S. Census Bureau released its recently completed 5-Year American Community Survey (ACS) in early December. The ACS is an ongoing survey that provides an annual portrait of the nation, including vital demographic and economic information.

Beginning with this new data set, we’re able to compare two discrete five-year segments of Nebraska-specific information: 2005-2009 and 2010-2014. Each succeeding year will yield new, distinct five-year segments that will help us see trends among Nebraska families with children at risk. This information is integral to our work with Nebraska legislators and state government and other partners to help promote high-quality, accountable early childhood programs that help children enter school ready to learn. View Nebraska county map with accompanying table of five-year comparisons.

We look forward to further extensive analysis of the data collected during the 2014 ACS, and continuing to work toward a better tomorrow for Nebraska’s next generation.
