Judges, county attorneys, caseworkers, parents, Guardians ad litem, CASAs, EDN providers, Head Start professionals, school representatives, early childhood educators, home visitors, medical and mental health professionals and foster care review professionals are just some of the individuals who will find the conference beneficial.
FFN’s Senior Policy Associate, Jen Goettemoeller, will moderate a panel discussing how Nebraska’s state systems and public-private partnerships are making early childhood a priority. Participating panelists are Doug Weinberg, Director of Children and Family Services; Rachel Wise, President of the Nebraska State Board of Education; Senator Galen Hadley, Speaker of the Nebraska Legislature; Tom Casady, Lincoln Public Safety Director and member of Fight Crime: Invest in Kids; and Jessie Rasmussen, President of the Buffett Early Childhood Fund.
Other notable speakers during the two days will include Dr. Matthew Blomstedt, Nebraska’s Commissioner of Education; Courtney Phillips, director of the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services; Dr. Brenda Jones-Harden, Associate Professor at the University of Maryland; Dr. Samuel Meisels, Executive Director of NU’s Buffett Early Childhood Institute; and Susan Shore, First Lady of Nebraska.
