Thriving Children, Families and Communities Conference set for September

High-quality early care and learning promotes children’s healthy development that sets them up for lifelong success, but it also affects parents’ ability to work and provide for their families, and communities’ ability to grow their local workforce and economy.

Please join us online September 27 for an exciting day of learning, sharing and inspiration as community leaders from across Nebraska come together to focus on high-quality early childhood education and its impact on local economic development and community vitality. Watch for registration information coming soon.

This free conference is intended for community leaders in education, economic development, child care, business, government, health care, higher education and philanthropy. You’ll learn about key research, policy and outreach of high-quality early childhood education programs and services and their key role in economic growth. More than 700 local leaders from 100 Nebraska communities and 20 states registered for this important conversation last year.

The morning will feature live-streamed sessions and panel discussions with community members and experts discussing challenges, sharing success stories and developing plans for implementing and sustaining high-quality early care and education.

In the afternoon, Communities for Kids participants will engage in further planning efforts. This Nebraska Children and Families Foundation initiative works with communities across Nebraska to advance their early childhood programming and services.

First Five Nebraska is proud to co-sponsor this conference with the Nebraska Department of Education, Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, Nebraska Children and Families Foundation, Nebraska Community Foundation, Nebraska Early Childhood Collaborative, Nebraska Extension, Buffett Early Childhood Fund and the Buffett Early Childhood Institute.
